Seven Days at 1mg 2x a Day and Still Queasy
So one of the side effects of this wonder drug is nausea. Honestly its not that bad. I've noticed that my level of nausea directly relates to the types of foods im eating when I take my pill.
im a young guy (28) so I am still in the habit of skipping breakfast. I've found that if I eat a really really ripe banana, the queasy feeling is minimized. This morning however, I had a banana that was barely ripe and got stick to my stomach for the usual 25 minutes.
In the evening, I usually get less queasy when I take my pill, and I do believe this is a result of the fact that my dinners contain more startches than my lunch or breakfast. However this is proving to be a problem as I try to cut some weight and scale back the carbs at night.
Anyone Chantix users out there have any nausea tips?

keep eating the banana, banana is known to improve mood, don't you know that?
you are lucky you are only queasy. i'm way into week 3 and have had acute nausea the whole time. depression too, crying for no reason..feel like total crap. still smoking down to about 8/day from 20.
I've been using Chantix since Nov 13. So far so good with the smoking, although I am soking one to three a day. I am not sure why. I guess old habits I have not changed.
As for nausea, I find that if I drink room temperature water and maybe eat a cracker the nausea goes away.
I had to cut back to 1 pill a day due to deep depression. I think I can still be successful and I don't feel depressed. I did see my Doctor before cutting back.
Is this site still being used? It is Jan 2007 I've just started Chantix so no side effects yet....plus sick with cold might not would notice anyway.
If you are still off the cigg.would really like to know razsandra1@yahoo.com
I just started the chantix and I really don't crave a cigarette, although I do feel quite strange. not like depressed or crazy jusy an inability to concentrate and think clearly. I am a nurse so I wonder how this is going to affect my job performance. Anybody else out there feel weird while taking Chantix?
I am a nurse (and smoker, starting on Chantix this month!!!) ...anyway, the carbonation in a can of pop can help with nausea (remember when Mom used to give you 7-up as a kid when you were sick? Well, she was right.. it does help) and try eating saltine crackers, as someone else suggested.
GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! YOU CAN DO IT!!!
